BECKET CHAMBERS CASE STUDY

SERVICES: MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANCY

The largest and oldest barristers Chambers in Kent, Becket Chambers, wanted to develop its brand identity to reflect its current capabilities and expertise and have access to specialist legal marketing expertise to support its new business and recruitment drive.

MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENT

Becket Chambers is an innovative and successful set of barrister chambers, but its branding did not reflect this.

The busy barristers and clerks needed outsourced marketing support to assist with updating their branding and roll this out as part of an integrated marketing and business development campaign across all activities such as events, video, social media, legal directory and awards submissions.

HOW ORION LEGAL MARKETING HELPED

When Orion Legal Marketing was first engaged with Becket Chambers the remit was to support the team on their day-to-day marketing and BD activities; however, the set was already working with a website agency to develop its new branding and the project was stalling.

Orion Legal Marketing offered a solution in the form of a new branding concept that encompassed the set’s cultural and service values, and that could be rolled out as part of an integrated campaign. We created a new logo, colour palette, digital member and pupil prospectuses, LinkedIn banners, social media templates and a full suite of stationery and promotional items.

We also helped the team create content for their new website and advised at various strategic points during its development, such as navigation, calls to action and the use of imagery.

Rachel Tombs went on-site and helped with the creation of a set of insightful videos that could be used on the website’s home page and social media platforms to promote the set’s expertise and support their recruitment plans.

We helped plan and organise events for both existing and prospective clients such as hospitality and networking gatherings, conferences and a mixture of in-person and online seminars and webinars.

We gave some of the barristers and pupils tailored training sessions to help them with their soft skills such as networking and personal branding.

Rachel Tombs also took on a head-hunter role to actively identify and reach out to new recruits which were taken on as members/door tenants.

THE RESULT

Orion Legal Marketing helped Becket Chambers with the successful launch of its new brand identity, website, and recruitment materials both on and offline, which has been well-received by clients, industry peers and recruits alike.

Now that the set has established an enhanced market positioning, Orion Legal Marketing works as a natural extension of Becket’s team, providing ongoing and reliable marketing expertise which spans social media campaigns, website updates, legal directory and award submissions.
