MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENT

Clerksroom (now known as The Barrister Group) is an innovative and growing set of national barristers and mediators. The set needed to ensure that it harnessed the power of online tools (website, e-marketing, social media, webinars etc) and in-person business development opportunities to promote their barristers to ensure a reliable flow of work, as well as attracting more talent as part of a recruitment campaign.

HOW ORION LEGAL MARKETING HELPED

Rachel Tombs trained the Clerksroom Managing Partner, Stephen Ward, on how to develop his LinkedIn strategy and utilise the online platform effectively in order to grow his business. She went onto to assist other barristers within the set so that they could also promote themselves and make connections.

The Orion Legal Marketing team wrote the online profiles for all new members of Clerksroom, for use on the Chambers website and LinkedIn profiles. The content had to not only convey their expertise but also their distinct working style and how they added value to clients. By using the professional Orion Legal Marketing copywriters, Clerksroom could ensure that the profiles of its members were compelling, clearly differentiated and that there was consistency throughout.

The team also wrote award submissions for Clerksroom to assist in building their profile, helping them win numerous awards including the British Legal Technology Awards, Modern Law Awards and The Legal Innovation Awards.

We produced a regular e-newsletter that went out to a subscription list of over 15000 contacts, highlighting activities at Clerksroom, barrister thought pieces, events and webinars.

To complement all of the online activities, the Orion Legal Marketing team also identified key in-person events that the Clerksroom team could sponsor and/or attend to help keep awareness high in target markets and develop key relationships to encourage instructions.

To support Clerksroom’s recruitment campaign we wrote copy for hard copy and online recruitment adverts for use in key publications and online on LinkedIn etc

As Clerksroom looked to receive additional external funding as part of its growth strategy, we also created documentation that was used as part of the due diligence process, including a comprehensive marketing strategy for the group.

THE RESULT

The practices developed by the Orion Legal Marketing team became an integral part of the induction process for new members at Clerksroom, and the set went on to grow by 400% in 3 years.

The Barrister Group references its ‘our award-winning technology’ in its strapline and marketing, with many of those awards having been won whilst Orion Legal Marketing were writing the sets awards submissions.

The recruitment campaign successfully attracted new barristers to the set.
