Marketing & Business Development Requirement
We had advised our client Tayntons, a Gloucestershire based full-service law firm employing over 60 people, on running effective LinkedIn and social media strategies and during that period built up a good working relationship based on mutual trust and respect.
The Partners of Tayntons had drafted a comprehensive business plan but when it came to the marketing and business development elements they recognised that they lacked the expertise to know how to put much of it into place.
At this point, the Partners approached Rachel Tombs to see if she could extend her remit and work with them on a part-time consultancy basis to help the firm make more of their existing client base and create new opportunities through marketing and business development.
How Orion Legal Marketing Helped
Drawing on her experience Rachel Tombs could immediately suggest ways to make tangible improvements to the firm’s marketing and increase engagement with clients.
Tayntons had created a client newsletter but were unhappy with the style of it. Rachel drafted a new style sheet to give the newsletter an edge and showed how analysis of click-throughs and effective follow up could help create opportunities, enabling the firm to develop leads they would have otherwise missed.
Rachel has advised and recommended improvements on how the firm can increase engagement and lead generation which have had a great impact at the business and social events the firm participates in. Rachel used her own business development and networking skills, both online and offline, to instigate and build on relationships for Tayntons, introducing the Partners and fee-earners to new contacts and helping them develop new business opportunities.
Tayntons was also lacking marketing collateral to support its business development efforts so Rachel and her team at Orion Legal Marketing wrote and created two brochures, one for Wills and one for Commercial services that could be used at events and in direct marketing campaigns.
Rachel also wrote and created with Orion Legal Marketing Conveyancing Buying and Selling Guides which now accompany any new quotes and are used for cross-selling purposes. The key benefits of employing Tayntons in a Conveyancing transaction are now easily demonstrable through words and images such as our Client Survey testimonials and statistics.
Rachel Tombs has provided a complete marketing and business solution on a cost-effective part-time basis. Her friendly and honest style has helped her become a natural extension of the Tayntons team.
Feedback from partners and clients is that the brochures and newsletters Rachel has helped the firm produce are undoubtedly better than anything Tayntons had created in the past.
Rachel has helped the firm develop better and more interactive relationships with its existing clients, improving cross-selling as well as opening the door for new opportunities.
Rachel and Orion Legal Marketing are continuing to work with Tayntons to develop and implement their marketing and business development activities, from external advertising and video campaigns to the review of all standard letters and documentation.
